About Riverlands School

Established in 1906, Riverlands School is a semi-rural primary school located on the southern outskirts of Blenheim. We provide education for students in Years 1–8 and are dedicated to fostering strong family involvement in our school community.

We currently have approximately 235 students enrolled across 10 classrooms. At Riverlands, we are committed to providing a nurturing, supportive environment where every child is given the opportunity to excel. Our approach focuses on fostering both academic success and personal growth, ensuring our students develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Our Beliefs:

Building Strong Partnerships with Parents and Caregivers

At Riverlands, we recognize the important role parents and caregivers play in a child’s education. We welcome your involvement in the school and look forward to developing a collaborative partnership with you.

Working together, we can create a positive and enriching schooling experience for your child. We encourage you to build a strong relationship with your child’s teacher, keep track of their progress, and work alongside us to support their learning journey. Your active participation makes all the difference in helping your child succeed.

Supportive Environment for Growth

Our school is supported by a dedicated Board of Trustees, an active Parent Support Group (Friends of the School – FOTS), and a passionate and skilled staff. We are all committed to providing the best possible education and support for your child in our unique environment

Positive Behaviour 4 Learning (PB4L)

Riverlands is proud to be a PB4L School, an evidence-based framework developed for New Zealand schools and supported by the Ministry of Education. At the core of PB4L are our school values: Respect, Relationships, Resilience, and Responsibility. These values guide all our teaching and learning practices.

We are excited to partner with you in supporting your child’s journey at Riverlands School. Together, we can make a lasting impact on their educational experience.
